Senior Fund Accountant – Technical Accounting
Reports to Financial Reporting Manager
The purpose of this position is to support the client facing teams with their day-to-day accounting queries/updates and be the subject matter expert on relevant laws and regulations. In addition, provide help to our Regulatory Reporting Team with delivering regulatory reporting services to clients.
Technical accounting
- Act as the first point of contact for technical queries raised by the accounting teams
- Review the quarterly/annual financial statements prepared by the accounting teams to ensure the accuracy, consistency and completeness of the amounts and disclosures
- Review quarterly/annual financial statements as a part of cold review process to ensure the adherence of standard procedures and processes in financial reporting
- Be vigilant on accounting updates (standards, guidelines etc.), analyse the impact on current client structures and communicate with the accounting teams
- Attend client meetings and represent teams for any client specific technical accounting queries
- Interact with client facing and other support teams across the Group to help deliver the client demands/client relationship
- Assist client facing accounting teams to prepare/produce key accounting technical papers/review of those papers
- Assist with delivering technical accounting training sessions to client facing teams at all levels (Accountants)
- Perform ad-hoc reviews of complex accounting calculations (e.g. Carried Interest, Management fees, etc.) and advise client facing accounting teams on the findings
- Active participation in automation/process standardisation projects
- Regulatory reporting
- Under the direction of the Regulatory Reporting Manager, perform periodic FATCA/CRS, AIFMD, Economic Substance and other regulatory reporting for clients
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
0 – 2 years post qualification experience ideally with Big 4 supported by a relevant professional qualification (ACCA or ACA)
Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)
Computer literacy, word processing and spreadsheet skills are essential
Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
