Summary
Company Secretary Officer - Guernsey
We are looking for a new team member to provide company secretarial services to the Relationship Management teams for client companies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Client company Guernsey Registry submissions and filings to include incorporations, Guernsey Annual Validations and statutory filings (to include Audit Waiver and AGM monitoring).
- Maintaining registered office board.
- Updating Butterfield Trust (Guernsey) Limited’s (BTGL) core database, Navision, in respect of Company Secretarial information, including Company registers.
- Dealing with other agents in respect of BTGL’s client companies.
- Assisting with the filing and maintenance of Guernsey Beneficial Ownership Registers, helping the Relationship Managers (RM) in terms of their familiarity of the regime.
- Assisting the RMs in dealing with any queries concerning their client companies (incorporated in Guernsey and elsewhere) to include liquidations, incorporations and any other day-to-day company-focused activities.
- Arranging and overseeing the timely completion of any economic substance reporting in the form of Guernsey tax returns and notifications into other jurisdictions.
- Ensuring BVI Annual Financial returns are completed.
- Staying abreast of and ensuring RMs and management are updated with ongoing Company Law changes and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively working with internal individuals and groups to ensure timely delivery of client data from a CoSec perspective.
- Assisting with company secretarial projects as required.
- Managing and record own time effectively and accurately.
Your qualifications and skills include:
- A minimum of two/three years’ experience in a financial services Company Secretarial position or a role with exposure to Company Secretarial work
- ICSA (or STEP) qualified.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team while being flexible and adaptable to change
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications to include MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- The ability to work in a deadline/volume driven environment whilst maintaining accuracy and focus
- The ability to drive and execute tasks and encourage others to do so
- Willingness to learn new skills and assist others to learn; taking responsibility for continuing self-development
- The ability to prioritise and focus on urgent and important tasks to achieve goals in expected timeframes
- A commitment to providing quality client service as part of a support role
- Professional approach with both internal colleagues and external parties
