What The Day Will Look Like

The Captive Client Leader is the principal interface between captive clients and Aon, with overall responsibility for captive client engagement and the delivery of client servicing in line with our stated principles. The role is shifting from a mainly technical, results-focused approach to focusing on deep client understanding. It also emphasizes value realization and coordinating Aon resources around captive and risk finance opportunities.

• The connector and advocate of the client’s captive and risk finance needs across Aon
• The coordinator and access point for “the Aon message” into the client
• The leader of captive-related client outcomes, ensuring profitable growth and a strong, enduring relationship
• Client Relationship & Strategy
• Own overall captive client engagement and satisfaction, acting as the primary point of contact for senior client collaborators.
• Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key client contacts, ensuring a deep understanding of their business, risk financing approach and captive strategy.
• Lead the development and execution of annual account plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements and Aon’s 3x3, revenue growth and margin goals.
• Conduct strategy sessions and periodic strategy check‑ins with relevant subject matter experts to find opportunities to improve captive performance and client value.

Service Delivery & Governance

• Ensure the delivery of client servicing in line with agreed service schedules, account plans and stewardship commitments, including the production and presentation of stewardship reports.
• Align ACIM’s service schedule with client and regulatory requirements and ensure that services are delivered to the expected quality and timelines.
• Monitor and interpret performance management reports and important metrics, using data to drive continuous improvement in service and client outcomes.
• Maintain appropriate technical involvement in captive-related matters, ensuring that advice and outputs remain robust and fit for purpose.

Growth, Profitability & Value Realisation

• Take responsibility for fee growth and the profitability of allocated captive accounts, identifying and pursuing opportunities to enhance revenue and margin.
• Proactively identify and develop cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities across Aon capabilities (e.g. AGRC, Broking, Aon Re, Global Benefits) based on client needs and captive developments.
• Ensure clients receive the appropriate level of strategic and advisory support to make better decisions related to their captive and broader risk finance strategy.

Internal Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as the orchestrator of the wider account team, aligning domicile leaders, GCC teams and other internal collaborators to client objectives and service requirements.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant counterparts across the Aon network to ensure clients receive best-in-class, integrated advice.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and role modelling for more junior CCLs and associated team members, helping to embed the client leadership approach.

Processes, Technology & Data

• Use and champion Aon systems and tools (e.g. Appian for schedule management, client portals, Power BI leveraging SICS and D365 data) to handle service delivery and support insight‑driven client conversations.
• Ensure an accurate view of client services and performance is maintained within core systems, and that outputs (reports, data extracts) are standardised to deliver a “one Aon” client experience.
• Contribute to the refinement of processes, KPIs and technology requirements to support the evolving CCL role.

What The Day Will Look Like

• Lead, direct, develop and motivate colleagues toward the accomplishment of business and company goals and objectives, and the accomplishment of personal objectives. Identification and development and ongoing training/education of staff in order enhance skills and achieve succession-planning objectives. This will include standard methodology, research, innovation, training, and development
• Ensure that all client needs are catered for by staff working under you and/or other Directors and Client Executives. Support an overall ‘Aon United,’ “one team” ethic
• Develop/maintain the client servicing teams such that all client, regulatory and group requirements are met
• Structure the team in a manner that enables it to meet all client, regulatory and Aon Group requirements, and such that it seamlessly cooperates alongside other teams
• Become a member of the AIMG Board within a short time horizon, subject to performance, supporting the Managing Director and other board members in resolving strategy and service structures and always ensuring the corporate good standing of the Company
• Work with Senior Managers and Client Executives to ensure the right level of resource is assigned to each client
• Support team members with high-level fee negotiations/ discussions with clients/ other areas of Aon (i.e. Bermuda where Guernsey performs a support function)
• Ensure group IT / IP investment goals are met and utilised such as SICS and MS Dynamics
• Ensure client profitability is prioritized, balanced by adequate resourcing to deliver the necessary service levels

• ACII (or equivalent) is required; additional credentials in business, leadership, or governance (MBA, Diploma IoD) will set you apart but not essential.

ROLE OF ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

GENERAL

• Responsibility for the management of a portfolio of captive and commercial (Re)insurance companies and accounts within a segregated accounts company.
• Responsibility for producing accurate accounting, underwriting and company secretarial information on a timely basis to enable the client Boards and controllers to make informed decisions.
• Liaising with the parent company, insurance regulator, directors, service providers etc in respect of the above.
• Advising senior management of issues of significance in respect of the above.

SPECIFIC

INSURANCE

• Policy administration and documentation
• Claims administration including reporting and recording
• Liaison with insurance and reinsurance brokers as required
• Underwriting decisions in conjunction with Directors, renewals and new business
• Checking the risk gap
• GFSC approvals of changes to business plans
• Obtaining Board approval
• Checking insurance documentation
• Accounting for premiums
• Agreeing reserving methodology

FINANCIAL

• Production of management accounts, statutory accounts and information, budgets, cashflow statements, and supplementary information as required.
• Assisting with the adoption of appropriate accounting practices and ensuring adherence thereto.
• Monitoring margins of solvency

Live Accounting

• Monthly bank reconciliations
• Monthly posting of bank investment transactions
• Monthly posting of monthly bordereaux

Cash

• Managing day to day cash requirements of companies
• Liaising with banks
• Liaising with and monitoring investment managers in respect of client invested funds.

COMPANY SECRETARIAL

• Performing relevant company secretarial functions including occasionally taking and producing minutes of meetings and required statutory filings.
• Ensuring minutes produced and circulated within seven days of meeting.
• Produce action points immediately after minutes are produced and add to “To Do Lists”
• Actioning matters arising.
• Arranging AGM
• Maintaining Corporate Governance framework and procedures manual

Board Meetings
