A career within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.

Our team helps our clients identify and reduce tax risks, meet compliance obligations, implement tax strategies that complement business and operational objectives, resolve disagreements with tax authorities, and manage tax accounting and reporting issues.

As a Manager, you'll work as part of a community of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

• Assist with tax consultancy and tax planning assignments, research tax issues including the taxation treatment of specific transaction, prepare calculations of statutory payroll deductions and perform General Consumption Tax (GCT) and other tax reviews.
• Supervise work done by junior employees and to provide coaching and monitoring where required on particular assignments.
• Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
• Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
• Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen
• Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
• Assist in the management and delivering of large projects
• Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

• Qualified Accountant, having completed the ACCA or CPA (or similar) examinations.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in providing tax services.
• Membership with the ICAJ is beneficial.
• Working knowledge of Income Tax Act and General Consumption Tax Act.
• Experience in dealing with the Regulations and Schedules to those Acts.

ROLE:

Managing the board relationship aspect for a portfolio of Guernsey and non-Guernsey, listed and unlisted entities with the minimum of supervision in a professional, effective, and high quality manner. 

WHAT WE DO IN THE BOARD RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT TEAM: 

Board Relationship Management: 

• Principal point of contact for client/fund Boards & Non-Executive Directors (“NEDs”) 
• Co-ordinate and ensure smooth delivery of service to client Boards by anticipating the needs of the Boards and taking responsibility for delivering the client meeting experience 
• Cross sell Northern Trust products 
• Liaise with internal and external service providers to the client/fund Boards 
• On-boarding new business in tandem with the New Business Team/Client Relationship Manager
• Attend Industry and networking events to represent NT, create and strengthen client relationships 

Board Meetings: 

• Coordinate corporate calendars, draft agendas and collate, review and circulate all Board related papers to meet client key performance indicators
• Represent NT as Administrator and also act as Company Secretary to the funds at board meetings 
• Act as Minute Taker in board meetings 
• Responsible for noting Action Points arising at board meetings and ensuring their completion by all parties 

Corporate Governance guidance: 

• Undertake reviews of the Company and Board against the latest key Corporate Governance Codes (AIC, UK and Guernsey) 
• Provide guidance on regulatory, reporting, compliance and stock exchange obligations impacting client/fund Boards and project manage as applicable, often with support from Corporate Broker/Investment Manager 
• Monitor and implement (on behalf of the board where required), regulation changes (e.g. new 2016 Market Abuse Regulation/ FATCA/CRS/AIFMD etc. 
• Identify areas for increased corporate governance best practice and work with the Board to implement changes 
• Review policies and procedures for the Boards 
• Undertake annual board self-assessment and service provider assessment 
• Work within a ‘Hybrid’ department, where company Secretary tasks and Board Relationship tasks are combined. 

Corporate Actions, Company Changes & Reporting: 

• Work with various internal and external service providers to implement corporate actions, such as: • Stock Exchange Listings (London/TISE/Dubai etc.) 
• Buy-backs 
• Redemption/tender offers 
• Dividends 
• Tap issues/additional market share offerings 
• Liaise with Statutory Services Department for Member meetings 
• Liaise with Financial Reporting for year-end & interim Accounts 
• Facilitate the execution of all client legal documentation that needs to be signed offshore 
• Support Stock Exchange announcements 

Qualifications & Other skills include:

• People Management (May or may not be required)

INTERNATIONAL FUND MANAGEMENT LIMITED

RISK AND FUND ANALYST

Background:

This role is based in Guernsey working for International Fund Management Limited (“IFM”), a subsidiary 100% owned by Praxis Fund Holdings Limited. IFM is a Guernsey licensed fund manager and the role is working in a small team providing management data and review of fund portfolios for risk management and oversight purposes.

Job Summary:

Responsibility for the preparation of various risk reports and analysis thereof in line with agreed risk management criteria. Review of management information and reports back to portfolio strategies, offering documents and associated regulation.

Job Accountabilities:

• Checking, Managing outsourced workloads and pPreparing Risk Management and Management/AIFM reports including:
  • Preparation of reports in line with risk management review checklist;
  • Reconciling investment positions and movements;
  • Reconcile assets to eligibility rules and raising issues to manager/director;
  • Reconciling derivative positions;
  • Review of price movements to various sources, ascertain liquidity of portfolio in relation to regulation and rules thereof;
  • Raise any issues with m Manager / Director;
  • Statistical analysis of valuations and production of graphical data.

• Management Information and communication;
  • Liaison with the Investment Advisor, management as required;

• Compliance;
  • Review of fund documents to ensure portfolios and valuations meet any regulation or fund restrictions and liaison with compliance on breaches;
  • Review of marketing rules and laws of respective jurisdictions;
  • Assist mManagement on regular compliance reporting.

• Preparation of Board Reports;
  • Assist with the pPreparation of board reports, breach reports and any board communication in conjunction with Mmanagement;
  • Attendance in meetings if required.

• Advisor Oversight
  • Assist with advisor oversight visits to meet outsourcing requirements and identify operational risks;
  • Assist with the preparation of fund fact sheets and KIID/KID documents.

• Other duties.
  • Assist management in the preparation onof new business risk advisory enquiries ifas required;
  • Available to assist in other duties as and when requested.

Minimum Education/Experience:

• • • Ideally educated to ‘A’ level standard, or equivalent;
    • Minimum of 23 years’ fund relevant experience.

New Business Manager

The Role

The position is a key operational role that supports the new business strategies of Trident Trust in Jersey and Guernsey. The position reports to the Channel Islands New Business Senior Manager in Jersey, but works closely with the Guernsey Board to help it deliver new business into the Guernsey Office in line with the strategic objectives. The incumbent will also work a day-to-day basis with the Channel Islands New Business Senior Manager, Senior Members of the Channel Island’s offices, new clients, Intermediaries and other offices of the Trident Trust Group.

Duties

• Attend and deal with the flow of new business enquiries.
• Represent Trident when dealing with professional intermediaries and the wider Trident Group.
• Production of proposals on a prompt basis when enquiries received.
• Maintain operational and strategic business systems on an ongoing basis.
• Manage the new business on-boarding process including processes in regard to the New Business Committee. Work in conjunction with the Head of Risk and Compliance to assess the due diligence requirements for on boarding new client relationships.
• Ensure the smooth transfer of new business to company secretarial/administrative staff.
• Work closely with Client Services senior management in ensuring continued adequate service levels to new clients.
• Maintenance of close working relationships with other Trident offices, and with the equivalent New Business staff and business developers from such offices.
• Production of reports from time to time for the Board of Directors.
• Provide the Boards with overall management support.
• Maintain data regarding our business development efforts, intermediaries and introducers.
• Update the weekly group report with the new business statistics and commentary.

• Good understanding of local Fiduciary regulations and laws, as well as some knowledge of such frameworks in other similar offshore jurisdictions e.g. UK, British Virgin Islands, Cayman, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bahamas

Qualifications Required
