JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Senior Manager Department: Fund Administration Job Family: Funds Job Level: 6 CF Reporting to: Director
About the role: The purpose of this role is to lead the operational delivery and strategic oversight of fund administration services for a portfolio of complex investment fund clients. As a Senior Manager in Fund Administration, you will play a critical leadership role—overseeing teams, managing key client relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence. This position is ideal for a senior fund professional with strong technical expertise, proven leadership capability, and a deep understanding of fund structures and industry regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Manage the day -to-day administration of a varied portfolio of fund clients across the alternatives sector. • Oversee and mentor a team of fund administrators, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and efficiency
in service delivery. • Act as the senior escalation point for client queries, managing complex issues and maintaining strong,
long-term client relationships in line with Belasko’s Client Service model. • Oversight and sign off on key deliverables prepared by the team, monitoring adherence to all regulatory
and internal requirements, as well as client service deliverables. • Ensure compliance with the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) regulations, anti-money
laundering (AML) laws, and other local regulations governing financial services to include internal policies and procedures.
• Support business growth by identifying service improvement opportunities, assisting in client onboarding, and participating in proposals and RFP responses.
• Ensure delivery in onboarding of new fund clients, ensuring smooth transition and setup of operational workflows.
• Mentor and coach mid-level staff and managers, contributing to succession planning and professional development within the team.
• Collaborate with directors and other senior stakeholders on local and group-wide strategic initiatives, systems implementation, and policy development.
• Lead process improvement and automation efforts to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of fund operations.
• Ensure effective coordination between fund administration, accounting, compliance, and legal teams to deliver integrated service offerings.
• Ensure all mandatory training, including AML/CFT/PF and Bribery and Corruption, is completed on a timely basis.
• Ensure team adherence to internal controls, risk management procedures, and service level agreements.
• Undertake performance reviews, training plans, and the recruitment and selection of new team members.
• Ensure financial discipline to include timely completion of timesheets, client billing, debt collection and recoverability analysis.
• Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory developments, and client needs, ensuring the business remains competitive and responsive.
• Ensure relevant professional qualifications are maintained through the appropriate professional body CPD requirements and recorded.
• Act as a director on client and internal boards, where required. • Participate in business development activities through client engagement, intermediary networking and
other marketing activities as required. • Prepare new business proposals, including pricing strategies, to secure new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 8+ years of relevant experience in fund administration or a related financial services role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong expertise in alternative investment fund operations and governance requirements. • Advanced understanding and practical experience of the Jersey tax, legal and regulatory framework and
obligations. • Holding a relevant professional qualification. • Proven experience managing client portfolios, leading teams, and delivering complex fund services.
