Bursary Student 2026 - Guernsey

Our Bursary Scheme offers students valuable support through a combination of financial assistance and practical work experience, helping them progress toward a successful legal career in the Channel Islands.

The scheme is open to local candidates studying for a degree in any subject at university who intend to pursue a legal career in Guernsey or Jersey.

Recipients benefit from:

• An annual allowance, paid in three instalments
• Up to eight weeks of paid work experience during holiday periods
• A voucher for study materials for all new bursary students

We encourage our bursary students to make the most of their work experience, as it provides invaluable exposure to our core practice areas and offers a genuine insight into the type of work we do.

Beyond financial support, we aim to build lasting relationships with our bursary students by offering guidance and advice from our experienced teams as you make important career decisions.

Many of our bursary students have successfully transitioned onto our Trainee Scheme upon graduation, continuing their journey with Bedell Cristin.

Trainee 2026 - Jersey

Our Trainee Scheme offers graduates the chance to learn from some of the most respected legal professionals in the Channel Islands and work towards becoming a UK-qualified lawyer, typically via the SQE route.

This two-year paid programme is designed to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded experience. You’ll rotate through our core legal departments, including exposure to key support teams, gaining a deep understanding of how a leading law firm operates. 

You’ll have access to structured training, guidance, and supervision for both your studies and practical experience, all within a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages growth.

Upon completion, you’ll have the chance to be considered for a permanent role with us, opening the door to a rewarding career in law.

This is a highly competitive scheme, so we look for individuals who are passionate about a career in law and demonstrate drive, enthusiasm, initiative, strong academic ability, and excellent communication skills. Applicants must be local residents and hold (or be on track to achieve) a 2:1 degree or higher.

Trainee Client Accountant - Jersey

This role is a brilliant opportunity for anyone looking to start their career in accountancy. Job accountabilities

To assist with a range of day-to-day tasks including, but not restricted to:

• Maintaining chart of accounts to ensure payments and source of funds can be processed efficiently.
• Understanding the different requirements and processes for different categories of assets and liabilities.
• Maintaining and updating accounting registers on our system.
• Assisting the team with bookkeeping.
• Supporting the team with the preparation of client reporting.
• Ensuring timesheet is completed daily.

Minimum education and experience

• Educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent
• Some office or general administrative experience would be an advantage but not essential.

Required skills

• Good interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with colleagues.
• Excellent written and verbal English,
• Good IT skills with a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent time management and organisation skills
• Willingness to learn both through professional qualifications and on the job training.
• An interest in understanding the different areas of the company, the services Praxis provides, and our values and culture.
• Basic knowledge of financial markets and offshore fiduciary services would be beneficial

Fund Accountant – Real Assets - Guernsey

As part of our Real Assets team, this highly numerical position will see you carry out routine day-to-day administration and accounting of a substantial portfolio of fund structures for one of the Group’s largest institutional clients under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with all aspects day-to-day administration and accounting matters such as calls and distributions, quarterly valuations, monthly and quarterly investor reporting and annual financial statement preparation
• Bookkeep all day-to-day operations of a variety of fund structures
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions
• Assist with the completion of routine audit queries
• Build relationships with key client contacts
• Maintain accurate records on eFront for all aspects of bookkeeping
• Assist and support the induction, integration and training of trainee staff

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level)
• Some technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)
• Computer literacy skills are essential
• Very good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
• You are required to hold full Guernsey work rights. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role
