The Risk Assurance Services (RAS) team at PwC takes pride in helping clients to identify,

Our Digital Audit specialists focus on providing information risk management assurance

services supporting external financial statement audit engagements. Our capabilities support

a wide range of businesses and industry sectors, across the Channel Islands with a focus on

Financial Services,

As a member of the RAS, Digital Audit practice you will work within an assurance team

structure as part of a multi-functional engagement team, interacting directly with clients.

Responsibilities:

As a credible candidate you will have developed core skills in a wide range of disciplines,

with a strong background in the testing of IT controls, automated controls and

dependencies supporting the financial statement audit. You will have developed skills in IT

audit; process and controls assurance; data and analytics and cyber security. You will also

have a good general understanding of technology/ERP and finance systems used by our

clients.

You will need to be capable of applying these core skills in a variety of business situations to

maximise the client value and impact over across Digital Audit and related controls

assurance engagements performed by the wider RAS team.

Responsibilities include:

• Participating in a Digital Audit team as the lead senior for Digital Audit, supporting

external FS audit teams in the delivery of external financial statement audit

engagements

• Completing planning procedures and client walkthroughs relating to the

understanding of the IT environment

• Assessing the design, implementations and operating effectiveness of IT General

Controls, application controls and related dependencies including the testing of key

reports and interfaces

• Using leading digital assets and related tooling to complete the testing of core IT

General Controls

• Undertaking project management activities to support the effective delivery of Digital

Audit engagements to agreed time and budget.

• Working with a range of clients delivering Controls Assurance engagements, in the

capacity of internal audit or non-audit assurance reporting

• Providing insight to clients related to the integrity of the control environment, the

efficiency of processes and the insightfulness of management information

• Helping to train and upskill staff members in the latest tools as coaching them as part

of wider client engagements

• Building relationships both internally within the PwC network and externally with

senior client management teams on ongoing engagements

• On-going development of in-depth industry experience and process expertise

• Experience of performing non-audit assurance engagements, such as ISAE3000

Desirable skills:

The Risk Assurance Services (RAS), Data Assurance team in the Channel Islands have

exciting opportunities in Jersey and Guernsey for experienced individuals to join our team.

As a credible candidate you will have developed core skills in a wide range of data

transformation and analysis practices, with a strong background in both consulting

and audit and an understanding of how to responsibly apply AI tools and

technologies as part of your work. You will have developed skills in specialised data

transformation and visualisation tools and applied these to the evaluation of

Responsibilities include:

• Participating in a Data Assurance team as a Lead Senior, supporting external FS

audit teams in the delivery of external financial statement audit engagements

ROLE NAME: Assistant Manager – Insurance Management

Description

This role sits within BWCI’s regulated Insurance Management and Brokerage business

and is responsible for supporting the delivery of insurance management and broking

services across a portfolio of clients.

Initially, the role will focus on a small number of key general insurance clients,

including home and healthcare programmes, managing the day-to-day policy

administration, claims, reinsurance reporting and operational processes in line with

management agreements and service levels.

The role will also support a range of South African life insurance clients, including

branch and multinational structures.

Over time, the role will expand to include greater involvement in broking activities

and wider insurance management client work.

This is a hands-on role with meaningful responsibility, suited to a well-organised and

proactive individual who can take ownership of client servicing, support junior

colleagues and contribute to the growth of the business.

What you would be doing

You would support the Insurance Management and Broking teams in delivering

high-quality services to BWCI clients, with responsibility for defined operational

processes and workstreams, including but not limited to:

Client servicing and operations

• Supporting the day-to-day servicing of key clients, with responsibility for

delivery of allocated workstreams in line with service level agreements

• Acting as a day-to-day point of contact for clients, policyholders, insurers and

service providers, under the oversight of the Manager

• Handling client interactions, including responding to queries, explaining

processes and ensuring timely resolution

Policy administration and broking activities

• Overseeing the day-to-day administration of the policy lifecycle, including

quoting, new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments and policy issuance

• Supporting broking activities, including obtaining quotes, liaising with insurers

and preparing documentation (on an execution-only basis)

• Ensuring all policy records are accurate, up-to-date and audit-ready

• Liaising with third-party providers, including legal protection providers, to

meet policyholder requirements

Claims and payment processes

• Handling claims processes from notification through to settlement, in line with

agreed procedures

• Processing premiums, including direct debit runs and payment reconciliation

• Monitoring and resolving failed or outstanding payments

• Performing commission calculations, checks and reconciliations

• Supporting debtor management

Reinsurance, bordereaux and reporting

• Preparing and reconciling monthly bordereaux (premium, claims and

reinsurance)

• Supporting reinsurance reporting processes and ensuring accuracy and

timeliness of submissions

• Monitoring and reconciling commission and insurer/reinsurer balances

Financial and administrative controls

• Supporting financial and bookkeeping processes, including reconciliation of

Skills and experience required

Essential

• 4-5 years relevant experience in insurance management, insurance broking or

a similar financial services environment

• Practical experience of:

- Quoting, renewals and policy administration

- Claims handling processes

• Experience preparing and reconciling:

- Bordereaux (premium and/or claims)

- Commission calculations and reconciliations

• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

INSURANCE ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

GENERAL

• Responsibility for the management of a portfolio of captive and commercial (Re)insurance companies

and accounts within a segregated accounts company

• Responsibility for producing accurate underwriting and company secretarial information on a timely

basis to enable the client Boards and controllers to make informed decisions

• Liaising with the parent company, directors, service providers etc. in respect of the above

SPECIFIC

INSURANCE

• Policy administration and documentation

• Act as a core member of Howden Captive Services (Guernsey) Limited’s internal Underwriting

Committee, supporting its effective operation in accordance with approved terms of reference. This

includes participating in underwriting reviews and ensuring submissions are complete, appropriately

risk‑assessed and supported by relevant documentation.

• Provide assistance and technical support to the Howden Captive Services (Guernsey) Limited’s

Underwriting Officer as and when required

COMPANY SECRETARIAL

• Performing relevant company secretarial functions including occasionally taking and producing

minutes of meetings

• Ensuring minutes are produced and circulated within seven days of the meeting

• Produce action points immediately after minutes are produced and add to “To Do Lists”

• Actioning matters arising

• Arranging AGMs, where applicable

SALARY AND BONUS

Basic salary: £65,000 per annum.

The Candidate will also be eligible to participate in the Howden Discretionary (non-contractual) Bonus
