Role overview

The Bookkeeper role is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for the Group, supporting the finance function across multiple jurisdictions. The role works closely with the Senior Accountant and Head of Operations to ensure financial records for the Group are accurate, complete and well-controlled.

This is a hands-on role suited to a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and experience working in a regulated or professional services environment.

Main duties and responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Administration

• Process payments (including call-backs where required) and ensure authorisation in line with internal procedures.

• Maintain day-to-day records (invoices, expenses, receipts and payments), ledgers and supporting schedules.

• Complete bank reconciliations and maintain audit-ready documentation.

• Manage accounts payable / accounts receivable, billing and invoicing (including the Accounts mailbox and debtor chasing/reporting).

• Support month-end/year-end, journals/accruals/prepayments, payroll support (as required) and assist with tax/regulatory reporting.

• Maintain and update finance systems and related policies/procedures.

Controls, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure work complies with internal policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Follow payment authorisation procedures and maintain appropriate segregation of duties.

• Support audits by providing timely, accurate information and maintaining confidentiality/data protection.

Operational & Team Support

• Maintain business/billing trackers (e.g., Monday.com) and keep systems up to date.

• Respond to finance-related queries and liaise with internal teams and suppliers.

• Support the Senior Accountant/Head of Operations with ad hoc reporting and process improvements.

• Provide general operational support on non-chargeable matters as required.

Person specification Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance administration role.

• Experience within a professional services or regulated environment is desirable.

• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (or working towards) would be an advantage.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.

• Experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks or similar).

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Prepare financial statements of trust and fiduciary structures in accordance with the

appropriate accounting standards or relevant regulatory requirements, with guidance

from Senior Trust Accountants.

– Perform periodic reconciliation of internal accounting records to portfolio statements from

financial institutions.

– Involvement with and management of automated data feeds from third-party custodians.

– Support on quarterly and annual investment monitoring processes.

– Coordinate with internal teams and liaise with external client stakeholders (advisors,

bankers, lawyers, consultants) in close coordination with Client Services.

– Participation in various Client Reporting and Investment Monitoring improvement projects

and initiatives implementations (automation, system development, standardisation).

REQUIREMENTS

– Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA), or part-qualified accountant with relevant

Based in Guernsey, LTS Tax Limited is an independently owned business providing tax advisory and compliance support services to a variety of private, corporate and institutional clients.

Position Summary:

An opening has arisen for a new team member to develop their UK tax knowledge by working in the Trust Tax Team, primarily assisting and reporting to the Manager and Associate Director within the team. The team specialises in the provision of UK tax advisory and compliance services to fiduciaries in relation to offshore trust structures as well as advising individual clients on UK tax matters (primarily in relation to such structures). This role offers excellent development potential and the opportunity to develop skills in this specialist area under the mentorship of a small team of highly experienced individuals.

Specific Duties

• Utilise and develop an in-depth technical knowledge of UK tax legislation in relation to a wide range of UK trust and personal tax matters

• Assist in the provision of written technical advice to clients

• Assist with calculations of stockpiled gains and relevant income

• Assist with ad-hoc technical queries via email or telephone as required

• As required, assist with the provision of tax compliance services

to clients including self-assessment tax returns, CGT returns, IHT returns and other related matters as required

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries

• Attend and ultimately lead meetings with client and intermediaries to build client book

• Attend in-house and external training on various technical tax issues.

• Understand billing process, chargeable time and manage own time effectively with a view to building billing responsibility for own client book

• Assist with the onboarding process for new clients

• Work on agreed training requirements and performance goals to ensure on-going development

Other Requirements

Candidates should ideally:

• Have a proven academic record

• Either have achieved or be willing to work towards a professional qualification – ATT/CTA

• Have some previous UK tax experience, preferably in a similar role

POSITION SUMMARY

In this role you will: support accurate and timely IFRS group consolidation and reporting across all legal entities, working closely with Regional Financial Controllers and Treasury. The role is open to candidates in Guernsey or Port Glasgow to join our friendly and high achieving team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly and year-end group consolidation process by reviewing regional submissions, reconciling variances, and preparing and posting consolidation journals, including intercompany eliminations, in line with IFRS and group accounting policies;
• Prepare and analyse the consolidated group cash flow statement using the indirect method;
• Support the preparation of consolidated reporting packs for the Board, audit and lenders, including reconciliation to management financial information;
• Work closely with Treasury to validate cash balances and movements, understand key liquidity and financing drivers, and analyse cash movements across the Group;
• Prepare clear, well-structured management papers and technical accounting memos to support the statutory audit;
• Support the implementation of new and amended IFRS standards;
• Maintain and improve consolidation data within group reporting systems, for example FCCS; and
• Assist local teams during peak reporting periods without assuming ownership of entity reporting.

Experience

• Strong IFRS and group consolidation expertise, which must include experience of multi-currency global organisations
• Strong experience in consolidation including cash flow preparation
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Experience with consolidation systems, ideally Oracle FCCS
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Ability to test the robustness of consolidated financial results versus other data points from the organisation
