Are you a banking professional with a passion for operational risk and a deep understanding of the Basel framework? Our client is looking for an AVP, Operational Risk Manager to join their high-performing risk team in Guernsey. This is an outstanding opportunity to work directly with senior leadership, drive strategic risk initiatives, and influence key decisions at board level.

You’ll be responsible for managing and evolving the operational risk framework, from crisis response and data analysis to reporting and team oversight — all within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

PLUS, our client is open to providing opportunities for the right candidate with strong banking experience requiring a permit switch or a permit to work in Guernsey.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and managing the business’s crisis response structure.

• Overseeing the Key Risk Indicator (KRI) program to ensure robust monitoring.

• Preparing and presenting monthly operational risk reports to senior committees and the board.

• Leading the day-to-day operations of the operational risk management program.

You will excel in this role if you have a strong knowledge of the Basel framework and how it applies to risk in banking, proven experience in operational risk within the financial or banking sector, Exceptional analytical and data interpretation skills, together with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders and present risk findings at a high level.
