Job Description
A leading regulated financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Risk Manager with strong organisation, planning and stakeholder-management skills to join its Guernsey team on a six-month fixed-term contract.
This is a high-impact second-line risk opportunity offering responsibility for enhancing the operational risk framework, influencing senior decision-making and providing independent oversight across operational resilience, strategic change, governance and emerging risk.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the continued development and implementation of the operational risk framework, ensuring it remains aligned with regulatory expectations, organisational policies and approved risk appetite.
- Providing independent oversight and constructive challenge across risk assessments, control effectiveness, operational events, remediation activity and significant business or technology change.
- Producing insightful operational risk reporting for senior management, governance forums and Board committees, highlighting emerging themes, material exposures and areas requiring action.
- Overseeing the integrity of the organisation’s Governance, Risk and Compliance system, ensuring risks, controls, incidents, actions and supporting data are complete, accurate and appropriately governed.
You will be an accomplished risk professional with significant experience in operational risk, internal or external audit, risk management or another relevant control function within banking, wealth management or financial services. You should also be analytical and commercially aware, understand how to balance robust risk management with customer outcomes and wider business objectives, you should also be able to identify important themes, exercise sound judgement and recommend proportionate solutions in a dynamic environment.
