A fast-growing, multi-jurisdictional financial services group is seeking an experienced Head of Data to lead its group-wide data capability from Guernsey.

Reporting to the Group CTO, this is a rare opportunity to combine strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement, taking ownership of the organisation’s data architecture, platforms, integrations, analytics and governance while helping to shape its future AI ambitions.

Responsibilities include:

• Owning and developing the Group’s data architecture, warehouse, data lake, models and roadmap, ensuring the data estate remains scalable, secure and aligned with business strategy.
• Leading integrations between business applications, data platforms and external systems, including API-driven solutions, while maintaining strong documentation, monitoring and data quality.
• Developing trusted analytics, dashboards and reusable data products that support operational decision-making, management reporting and regulatory obligations.
• Leading and developing a team of data engineers and analysts while championing data governance, literacy and responsible AI adoption across the organisation.

You will bring significant experience in data architecture, data engineering or analytics leadership, ideally gained within financial services, professional services or another regulated and complex organisation. You should also have prior experience of leading data engineers and analysts, together with the ability to set clear objectives, develop technical capability and create a team culture built around collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
