Job Description
A key client - an established banking business - is seeking a New Business & Risk Officer to join its Guernsey-based team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This varied role will support new client onboarding and account opening, ensuring documentation, due diligence and risk assessments meet regulatory requirements while helping to protect the organisation, its clients and its reputation.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing new client onboarding and subsequent account openings, including application reviews, risk assessments, workflow management, screening and relevant background searches.
- Undertaking KYC/CDD and enhanced due diligence for higher-risk and PEP relationships, working closely with Relationship Managers to obtain and validate supporting information.
- Supporting periodic reviews, trigger-event updates, PEP annual reviews and retrospective CDD exercises, ensuring errors, omissions and remediation requirements are resolved promptly.
- Assisting with FATCA and CRS classification checks, overnight screening, account amendments and static data changes while maintaining accurate records and escalating concerns appropriately.
You should be highly organised, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail, together with experience within banking or another regulated financial services environment, with a good working knowledge of account opening, KYC/CDD processes and client risk reviews. Familiarity with higher-risk relationships, PEPs, FATCA and CRS would be particularly valuable.
