Job Summary:

This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our Client Onboarding experience. The primary focus of this position is to serve as a relationship coordinator, bridging the gap between our business (cross-Line of Service Engagement Teams and their Clients) and our KYC Operations Team.

The Onboarding Adviser will use their knowledge of the firm's AML/CFT policies and Client Acceptance procedures to ensure smooth communication across these stakeholders, managing their expectations in order to streamline and simplify how we obtain KYC data and ensure that our engagement teams are fulfilling their requirements relating to Client and Engagement procedures.  

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

· Respond effectively to all AML related queries relating to procedures, policy and respective systems for KYC.

· To communicate with engagement teams to keep them updated with onboarding status, escalating any issues early and proactively solving problems for these teams.

· Guide clients and engagement teams throughout the KYC process to obtain all the necessary documentation needed to satisfy the AML requirements and to pass this information to the CoE.

· To act as a conduit between the KYC Operations Team  and the client/engagement teams to ensure correct interpretation of the KYC requirements and to simplify the requests which are made of the administrators/clients.

· Demonstrate quality and technical expertise by acting as the first point of contact for the CoE for queries and/or additional outreach on a KYC profile to ensure outreach is only conducted if needed - leveraging existing data and local industry knowledge.

· Take ownership for charging all time spent on onboarding work to relevant WBS codes to provide relevant and accurate management information regarding the onboarding process.  It is expected that this role will be chargeable.

Qualifications & Certifications:

· AML certificate / other similar relevant qualifications could be beneficial 

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential skills:

· Understanding of KYC, financial regulatory environment and AML risk implications

· Understanding of legal structures of various client types

· Experience in managing client relationships / client risk / AML or KYC roles

· Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams

· Confident in escalating issues when necessary

· Ability to work to KPIs and be accountable for output

Desirable skills:

· Knowledge of compliance monitoring processes

· Knowledge of quality standards and expectations and implementation of these in their daily role

· Understanding of client structures and regulatory needs

The Compliance Team plays a vital role in ensuring PwC CI complies with its regulatory obligations under the Guernsey and Jersey Anti Money Laundering (AML) regulations and also supports the firm in managing adherence to auditor independence and ethics requirements. We do this by carrying out monitoring and testing of compliance with the Firms’ policies and procedures; ensuring we keep those policies and procedures up to date and issuing a number of reports to the Leadership team.

Responsibilities:

In your role as a Sanctions and Financial Crime specialist, your responsibilities outlined below will be delivered in conjunction with the support of resources within a PwC Poland Centre of Excellence (CoE) as determined by the Compliance Manager/Senior Manager.

Compliance analytics and monitoring (focus on sanctions compliance):

Execution of the following ongoing compliance monitoring activities:

· Assist with the sanctions screening activities, including EU Sanctions screening using Alteryx workflow.

· Support with the quarterly sanctions screening monitoring programme.

· Undertake all compliance monitoring activities pertaining to our Fiduciary Licensee entity in Guernsey, as directed by the Compliance Senior Manager/Compliance Director.

· Maintain and monitor the list of remedial actions required following compliance monitoring tasks in your areas of responsibility.

· Update the breaches register for any findings identified.

· Report status and updates in the monthly Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) report to the Risk & Quality Committee.

· Understand and conduct annual monitoring over the effectiveness of the firm’s sanctions screening tools and technology.

Compliance advisory

Providing support in respect of the following:

· Dealing with policy queries from Lines of Service (LoS), the CoE and/or the KYC Team.

· Act as the first point of contact for sanctions-related queries and conduct initial reviews before escalating to the Compliance Manager/Senior Manager.

· The review of escalations: primarily Sanctions; and also Adverse News, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), requests on an ad hoc basis.

· Development of Sanctions and AML training materials for all Partners and staff, the Centre of Excellence and/or the local KYC Team.

Reporting to stakeholders

· Complete and update all areas of the MLCO report which fall within your roles and responsibilities (with a focus on Sanctions reporting).

· Complete and update the Fiduciary Licensee Compliance Report.

· Provide ad hoc support for updating compliance policies, updating the BRA as well as undertake all other compliance monitoring activities pertaining to PSGL, as directed by Compliance Senior Manager/ Compliance Director.

Update and maintain compliance data

· Prepare and validate sanctions data for all regulatory submissions to relevant regulators, including the JFSC/GFSC.

· Draft regulatory correspondence on sanctions and financial crime matters for review by a Manager/Senior Manager.

· Ensure sanctions-related datasets are accurate and up to date across all compliance repositories, maintaining completeness and accuracy of sanctions-related datasets e.g. updating and maintaining the completeness of the Compliance Task Tracker, Compliance Regulatory Newslogger and the Compliance Monitoring Plan in respect of your areas of responsibility.

· Liaise with technology specialists to drive efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of the reporting process.

· Develop a deep understanding of the CI regulatory environment: attend regulatory and industry events with a focus on sanctions, documenting key takeaways and submitting action points for review and implementation.

Policies and procedures

· Propose and draft updates to sanctions policies in response to regulatory changes, network guidance, or internal policy forum recommendations.

· Take ownership of and update process notes for areas of responsibility, ensuring timely review and approval by the Compliance Manager/Senior Manager.

· Prepare responses to regulatory consultation papers on proposed updates to sanctions laws, regulations or policies, preparing summaries for internal discussion and review.

· Analyse thematic reviews and publications from the JFSC, GFSC, and Registry on sanctions, preparing impact assessments for internal policy alignment.

· Contribute to the quarterly and annual review of the sanctions section of the Firm’s Business Risk Assessment (BRA), ensuring it reflects current risk exposure and control effectiveness.

· Provide ad hoc support in updating other compliance policies and procedures, particularly those related to AML/CFT/CPF risk assessments and controls.

Compliance projects

· Support the delivery of key compliance projects with a focus on sanctions, including the implementation of new processes, technologies, and policy enhancements.

· Track and report on the status of sanctions-related compliance projects, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications & Certifications:

· A relevant professional qualification (i.e. ACCA, ICAEW).

· ICA Certificate or similar preferred (e.g. ACAMS); or Audit/Internal Audit Qualification; or Legal qualification would be beneficial

· Strong written and spoken communication skills and strong interpersonal skills for engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, management, and external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies; this should include the ability to challenge and debate professionally.

· Ability to understand and interpret rules and implement the requirements in practice.

· Experience drafting, updating, and disseminating policy changes, reports, and communications.

· Analytical skills for regulatory changes, processing risk updates and engaging with consultation papers or thematic reviews.

· Proficiency / a keen interest in relevant systems and technologies, understanding compliance software and tools that aid in monitoring, reporting, and managing compliance-related data.

· Understanding of risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

· Self-motivated and proactive with good organisational and prioritisation skills to ensure all allocated tasks are diarised, followed up and completed in a timely manner.

Travel Requirements:

This role may require you to travel between our Jersey and Guernsey offices from time to time (circa 2-3 times per annum).
