Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Risk Assistant who will play a key role in supporting our Chief Risk Officer and strengthening the Bank’s enterprise‑wide risk framework. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of our risk function. As a trusted extension of the CRO, you’ll help ensure the Bank operates confidently within its Board‑approved risk appetite, meets regulatory expectations, and continually improves how we manage risk across the business. You’ll provide clear governance support, offer independent challenge, and help embed strong, consistent risk practices throughout our organisation.

Key Accountabilities

Enterprise Risk Management

• Support the Risk & Compliance Senior Leadership team in maintaining and embedding the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• ​Coordinate and prepare updates to the Risk Appetite Statement, ensuring metrics are monitored, escalated and reported appropriately.
• ​Assist in the identification, assessment and monitoring of key risks across the Bank, including credit, operational, conduct, liquidity, market and strategic risks.
• ​Maintain the risk register, ensuring risks, controls and mitigants are clearly articulated and regularly reviewed with first line management.

Risk Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare high-quality risk MI and reports  for Executive Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee.
• ​Track risk events, incidents and near misses, ensuring timely escalation and follow-up actions.
• ​Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and support root cause analysis where thresholds are breached.

Governance & Committees

• Support the CRO in the effective operation of risk governance forums, including:
  o Agenda setting
  o Paper preparation
  o Action tracking
• ​Draft clear, concise risk papers for senior management and Board committees.
• ​Ensure risk policies, frameworks and procedures are reviewed in line with policy schedules and regulatory expectations.

Regulatory & Compliance Interface

• Assist the CRO in interactions with the regulator, including preparation for supervisory reviews and thematic visits.
• ​Support regulatory submissions and responses relating to risk matters.
• ​Help ensure the Bank’s risk framework aligns with local regulatory requirements and recognised best practice.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance risk processes, MI and reporting.
• ​Support the CRO in implementing improvements arising from internal audit, regulatory feedback or Board direction.
• ​Keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments relevant to offshore retail banking.

Leadership and Engagement 

• Sponsor and engage personally with the Values and Behaviours; challenge examples of unacceptable behaviour

Customer Strategy

• Manage the experience customers have with Skipton and ensure outcomes are achieved that are appropriate for customers 
• ​Deliver excellent service to customers and/or Stakeholders

Requirements 

Essential

Skills and Experience

• Experience in risk management within a regulated financial services environment (banking preferred).
• ​Good understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and risk appetite concepts.
• ​Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear Board-level papers.
• ​High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• ​Confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and provide appropriate challenge.
• ​Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a small team environment.

Desirable

• Experience within an offshore or international banking environment.
• ​Exposure to retail banking products (deposits, lending).
• ​Familiarity with regulatory expectations of offshore supervisors (e.g. prudential and conduct).
• ​Risk or professional qualification (or working towards one), e.g. IRM, ICA, PRM.

Financial Crime Operations Manager

Role Purpose
Manage the day-to-day operation of the Financial Crime utility team, ensuring effective delivery of AML, CFT, CPF and Sanctions controls across all supported businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Manage daily Financial Crime operations including:
  • Customer Due Diligence (CDD/EDD)
  • Transaction monitoring
  • Sanctions screening
  • Case management and escalations
• Ensure service delivery aligns with agreed SLAs for each supported business.

Utility Coordination

• Act as the primary operational interface between the Financial Crime team and business units.
• Allocate resources and prioritise workloads.

Oversight of Outsourced Providers

• Perform ongoing oversight of outsourced providers including:
  • Review of MI, KPIs, and quality metrics
  • Issue identification and remediation tracking
  • Escalation of performance concerns
• Coordinate periodic assurance reviews and reporting to the Head of Financial Crime.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Implement and maintain QA frameworks over AML/CFT/Sanctions activities.
• Identify control weaknesses, root causes, and drive remediation.
• Support the implementation of regulatory change and process enhancements.

Reporting & MI

• Produce regular MI and management reports covering:
  • Backlogs and turnaround times
  • Risk trends
  • Sanctions and screening metrics

People Management

• Line manage Senior Analysts and Analysts.
• Provide coaching, performance management, and technical guidance.

Compliance Senior Administrator

As well as being an experienced and integral member of the compliance team, the senior compliance administrator will assist with monitoring and developing the controls in place within Bedell Cristin that ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, legal and regulatory requirements.  

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of any allocated tests within the Compliance Monitoring Plan and have the ability to identify any perceived risks to the business.
• Liaise with the business where required and document any queries raised as a result of the testing.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address compliance issues, conduct risk assessments, and provide guidance on compliance matters
• Organize own workload to ensure that any compliance monitoring reviews are undertaken in accordance with pre-agreed timeframes
• Develop and implement compliance reporting mechanisms to track and report on compliance activities
• Respond to CDD and other onboarding queries from the business and Client Take-on team
• Assist with the training and education of employees, including new joiners, on compliance policies and procedures
• Maintain records and documentation related to compliance activities and audit
• Assist with enquiries from regulatory agencies and help to prepare for regulatory visits and investigations
• Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in compliance to ensure the firm's practices remain current and effective

Qualifications

• Ideally educated to A level standard or equivalent
• Completed a professional/relevant qualification to Diploma level, an ICA qualification would be preferred

Knowledge/skills/experience

• A good awareness and understanding of local regulatory requirements and AML
• At least 3 years' industry experience
• Previous experience in a similar role and preferably within a legal environment
• Strong IT skills

Senior Administrator, Operations and Business Support - Guernsey

To be part of the Operations and Business Support team in order to provide operational support to the Fiduciary Services business.

This will include managing statutory data within our core database and updating the Guernsey Registry, as required, and within regulatory deadlines.

To ensure that there are sufficient processes, procedures and reporting systems in place to monitor, review, assess and minimise client operational & AML/CFT risk within the business, whilst acting in accordance with the local Laws, Orders, Codes of Practice and Regulations and Group policies.

In particular the post holder is expected to work with the other departments to ensure that our key data is accurate and compliant with our regulatory obligations.

Job accountabilities:

Data Processing & Review

• Assist with data reconciliation and exception reporting, including weekly audit report of Acumen, weekly outstanding source of funds and monthly original client due diligence reconciliation.
• Manage statutory data on Acumen.
• Management of tasks and workflows, including assisting with a project to reduce outstanding tasks.
• Set up of contact cards on Acumen.
• To assist with and provide cover for the Guernsey Registry submissions and management of the data held in Acumen & at the Registry.
• Administration of the Banking platforms.
• Manage banks’ requests for information where Praxis has an introducer status.
• Maintenance of statutory records for in-house companies.
• Preparation of RORASQ documentation for Annual Validation filing deadlines.
• Provide support pan-island in the alignment of data in Acumen and the standardisation of policies & procedures as they affect the team.

Other

• Company secretarial duties for in-house companies (non-lead licensee companies).
• Assist with various projects as they arise from time to time.

Minimum education and experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Educated to ‘A’ Level standard or equivalent.
• Relevant professional qualification (i.e. STEP or CGI) would be preferable.
• Guernsey Trust and Company administration experience.
• Experience with using the Guernsey Registry.
• Guernsey Company secretarial experience is preferable.

Minimum Education and Experience

• The post-holder must possess relevant experience obtained in a trust and company environment.
• Possession of a certified ICSA/STEP qualification is desirable or a willingness to obtain one.

Skills

• Intermediate excel and word skills required.
• Property administration experience would be desirable.
